Spencer Pratt is an American reality television personality, media entrepreneur, and 2026 Los Angeles mayoral candidate. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he gained fame on MTV's The Hills as the sharp-tongued boyfriend of Heidi Montag.
THE FIRE
In January 2025, the Palisades Fire destroyed Pratt's $2.5 million Pacific Palisades home. He has called the disaster preventable gross negligence by city officials, criticizing poor brush clearance, utility issues, and slow response. The family lived in temporary setups like an Airstream trailer on their burned lot while dealing with major rebuilding challenges.
THE INSPIRATION
The loss of his home and his parents' home, combined with what he saw as total government failure, deeply angered Pratt. He listened to his mother cry daily and witnessed neighbors suffer (including fatalities nearby). This personal tragedy turned him into a vocal advocate for wildfire victims and city accountability, motivating him to channel his frustration into political action rather than just complaints.

On the one-year anniversary of the fire, Pratt announced his candidacy for Mayor of Los Angeles. He's running a viral, social media-heavy campaign using AI-generated ads, focusing on wildfire prevention, public safety, homelessness solutions, and fixing government incompetence.
